Whew! Long day today!
Did my 30 minutes at the gym today before work, but I didn't make it to Trader Joe's. Was a little behind on time, so just had to skip swinging by.
Washing up and goin gto bed. Gonna try to hit the gym again in the morning.
SF was fun. I had a really nice time spending time with Seb’s parents while Seb went off to shoot a wedding. We spent the entire Saturday just walking around, shopping for fruits, eating, enjoying pastries and coffee, and eating more. Seb’s mom also bought me a very generous amount of pregnancy clothing so I now have things to wear that I actually fit my growing belly into! She got some really cute stuff. I think there must have been 15 tops, and 4 or 5 pairs of pants/shorts, all brightly colored for summer. Today after work went to my flute lesson, then to Trader Joe’s to pick up some snacks for work this week. I wanted to try a couple of new things, so I grabbed a box of the frozen steel cut oatmeal; it’s so good! I think it tastes pretty darn good. Gonna go back tomorrow and get more. Since there’s only 2 frozen servings in one box. I also got this new cereal I saw called Puffins. High fiber, low cals. Each serving has 6 grams of fiber! That’s ¼ of the daily requirement! And only 100 calories not including milk. Not bad, tastes pretty good too. I’m always excited when I find good stuff at TJ. Then there’s the egg white salad with chives with 50 cals per serving, 2 servings per container. I love those things either with whole grain pita pockets, or just Sara Lee whole grain white bread with a little bit of mayo spread. Even no mayo still tastes excellent. But since Seb didn’t have anything to pack for lunch, I gave up my egg white salad for him to take to work and make a egg white salad sandwich. Actually thinking about it now, I might just swing by TJ in the morning before work instead of waiting till evening. That way I’ll have my egg white salad sandwich too. Hee hee.. My Trader Joe's shopping basket: Going to hit the gym for 30 minutes of cardio before work and TJ… so I better get to bed now. 99...
We leave for our trip after work tomorrow! Woo hoo! Gonna get into work, do everything back to back, FAST, and try to get outta there a little bit earlier. Say, around 4:30pm. I’m done doing my laundry right now, but I doubt I’ll pack. Too tired to be lugging my carry-on everywhere around the house right now. Actually, I really should be getting ready for bed, but still hanging onto the last of my energy. Time at home away from work is precious. I didn’t wake up in time for work out this morning, cause I went to sleep at 4am after I finally finished all the work stuff I was working on. So for lunch, I got myself to the gym in 5 minutes, and powered through a quick 45 minute workout. Even though it was rushed, it still feels good to squeeze some exercise in. I did brisk walk on the treadmill for 20 minutes and then 25 minutes of light weights. Did a couple reps for my shoulders and chest. I was only using 25 pound dumbbells which look significantly smaller than what I normally use, and guy next to me kept eyeing me. Must be my round, round belly. But rest assured, I do tell my doctor everything I’m doing to make sure EVERYTHING I’m doing is safe for Baby and me. Okay, going to sleep. Should sleep in for a little longer as I’m feeling pretty burnt out today. Gonna try to squeeze in one last lunch-gym session during lunch tomorrow for some circuit training.
Ok, working out during lunch isn’t working out very well for me. Too strapped for time. So I’m changing my workout schedule to mornings again. Even though I still get pretty burnt out by the end of the day, I’m actually feeling pretty good in the morning these days. So I’m going to take advantage of it! Being pregnant takes a lot of energy AND will power to exercise! But in the end I know I won’t regret it if I try to stay active. So with all that said, I’m going to wash up now and head to bed. Need to be awake by 5:45a.m., get to the gym no later than 6:30a.m. for an hour. The gym is only down the street from me, so it only takes 5 minutes to get there and back. Love it when it’s so convenient! Come home, take a shower, eat my breakfast, look over some work, and then head to the office. Also, my tunes on my iPod shuffle are OLD. Haven’t updated them for 2 years. Too lazy. But since I got my new Blackberry Tour, it’s been really, really convenient to stream Pandora. Yay for Pandora! Ok, going to bed. 99! Oh, weigh-in------ 19.8 pounds / 25 weeks pregnant.
My tummy is getting bigger at a faster pace now. I take my weight every Sunday morning. I've gained about 1.5 pounds this past week. I'm 22 weeks and total weight gain is about 14.3 pounds. I'm still feeling pretty good and my appetite is back on track. Lots of fruit still, mainly oranges. Speaking of which, I'm going to have one after this post. Being pregnant is fun. I love it.
Pictures below from last night!
I got up today and had my usual breakfast of whole grain blueberry waffles with butter spray and a large glass of 2% milk. So good. I love waffles, I love butter, and I love milk. So naturally, every morning I really look forward to breakfast. And then at night I do breakfast all over again. I have the exact same things for a snack right before bed.
I had my monthly check up with the OB doctor. We discussed the ultrasound result from a couple weeks ago about the cleft. And the doctor said with the equipment at the hospital, if they can’t see anything, then it’s most likely a mistake and everything is fine. I do have a follow up scheduled for August 6th at the hospital again just to make sure again, as Baby Kumquat will be bigger and the images on the screen should be a lot clearer. I can’t get over a teeny bit of uneasiness until ALL the doctors have confirmed that there is nothing wrong. But I guess we’ll just have to wait patiently. At least the last checkup was good.
After my appointment I was SO hungry. So hungry I couldn’t wait to find somebody to eat with me so I went to lunch by myself. Pictures below!
DIM SUM! Anyone who knows me, knows I’m not a big fan of dim sum because of all the grease and shrimps. Yuck. But when I do go, I love the dan-ta (Chinese egg custard), and sesame balls.
I’m halfway through my pregnancy now! I’m enjoying my second trimester SO much more than my first. Some of my food preferences has changed since being pregnant. For instance, I used to LOVE hotdogs. Now, they don’t taste that good to me. I could never get enough peanut butter on toasted bread. Now, peanut butter gives me heartburn. I rarely ate any kind of fruits before. But I think oranges are the best thing in the world now! Haha… It’s all very interesting.
Lately, I’ve started feeling Baby Kumquat move around more. I notice it when I sit very still and move my attention to my belly. It’s almost like his hand is just brushing along my inside. It’s one of the best feelings in the world to feel your baby move. Makes my heart melt into a little puddle next to my belly button….. Like when Seb holds my hand.
Here’s a picture of me at 20.5 weeks, taken today before lunch….
Current weight gain is approximately 11.9 pounds.
